The cold season brings snowball matches, customizable snowmen decoration challenges, and winter ice-fishing pools. This guide covers how to survive the cold and claim winter-themed rewards.

Building Customizable Snowmen

During winter days, you will find rolling snowballs on your plot:

Roll Snowballs: Push the snowball across snow-covered ground to increase its size.
Stack Bodies: Stack a small snowball on top of a large one to create the snowman base.
Decorate: Interact with the base to add accessories:
- Carrot Nose: Sourced from your farm carrots.
- Coal Eyes: Sourced from coal ore.
- Top Hat: Bought from Ka Ching’s Winter shop.
Buff: Having a decorated snowman on your plot grants a +5% crop growth speed to nearby winter-resistant crops (e.g. Cabbages).

Snowball Fight Mini-Game

Join snowball lobbies at the town center snow fort:

Equip Snowballs: Use the Snow Scoop tool to gather up to 5 snowballs in your tool slot.
Targeting: Right-click to aim, left-click to throw. Hitting players deals knockback.
Snow Tokens: Participating rewards you with Winter Snow Tokens used to buy the Cozy Fireplace blueprint.

Glacial Ice Fishing Pools

Winter freezing opens up specialized ice holes in Glacial Streams:

Breaking Ice: Equip your Iron Pickaxe to smash frozen lake surfaces to create a circular fishing hole.
Winter-Only Fish: These holes spawn the rare Crystal Dace (see our Fish Catalog for coordinates).
Rod Buff: Catching fish through ice holes yields a +10% chance of pulling up ancient sunken boots (containing random gold coins).

Cold Resistance & Warming Drinks

Exploring snowy zones triggers the Cold Freeze effect:

Debuff: Shivering drains 1 stamina point every 10 seconds.
Prevention: Equip the Woolen Scarf (crafted with sheep wool) or drink a Hot Cocoa at Massimo’s Tavern (+100 Stamina and 1 hour of Cold Freeze immunity).
