Your mailbox in Heartopia is more than a decoration — it’s the primary delivery system for quest rewards, code redemptions, NPC gifts, event prizes, and daily quest briefings. Missed mail means missed rewards. This guide covers every mail type, the notification system, and how to make sure nothing expires before you claim it.

Mailbox Location & Access

Where to Find Your Mailbox

Your personal mailbox sits just outside your front door on your home plot. It’s a wooden post box with a red flag that raises when you have unread mail.

Remote Mail Check

Starting at D.G. Guild Level 3, you can check your mail remotely:

  1. Open the Watch Menu (Tab on keyboard, D-Pad Up on controller)
  2. Select the Mail icon (envelope symbol)
  3. View your inbox list

Remote checking lets you see what’s waiting, but claiming attachments requires visiting the physical mailbox in person. Plan a trip home during your daily route.

5. Daily Digest

A special automated summary delivered every in-game morning (6:00 AM).

The Daily Digest

The Daily Digest is your most important letter. It arrives at 6:00 AM in-game and summarizes everything you need to know for the day.

What’s Inside

SectionContents
Weather ForecastToday’s weather + tomorrow’s prediction
Daily QuestsList of available daily quests + rewards
Shop RestocksKa Ching’s store rotation for today
Event StatusActive events + time remaining
Hobby DailiesPainting quest, photo quest, fishing challenge
NPC BirthdaysWhose birthday is today (gift reminder!)
Expiring ItemsMail rewards expiring within 24 hours
Stamina TipSuggested high-value activity for the day

Reading Priority

The Daily Digest should be the first thing you read each morning — even before checking the weather in-game. Here’s the optimal reading order:

  1. Expiring Items — claim these first before they vanish
  2. NPC Birthdays — prepare and deliver gifts before noon (see NPC Gift Guide)
  3. Daily Quests — plan your route (see Resource Routes)
  4. Event Status — check if limited-time activities are ending
  5. Shop Restocks — visit Ka Ching’s before stock rotates tomorrow
  6. Weather Forecast — plan weather-dependent activities (fishing, bird watching)

Pro tip: The Daily Digest replaces the need to check multiple menus. Read it once, plan your day, and execute.

Notification Center

The notification system lives in your Watch Menu and provides real-time alerts.

Golden rule: Check your mailbox every single day. The 30-day expiry on most items is generous, but it’s easy to forget — and event rewards (14 days) are gone forever if missed.

Pro Tips

1. Morning Mail Routine

Make checking the mailbox your first action every in-game day. Walk out your front door, check mail, read the Daily Digest, then start your daily route.

2. Claim Before Traveling

If you’re about to visit a friend’s town or join a co-op session, claim all mail attachments first. Some rewards (like materials) can’t be claimed while in another player’s world.

3. NPC Letters Trigger Quests

Many NPC letters contain quest triggers. If Professor Liora sends you a letter about the museum, don’t just read it — go talk to her to activate the quest chain.

4. Birthday Return Gifts

If you give an NPC a gift on their birthday, they’ll send you a return gift by mail the next day. The return gift is often more valuable than what you gave. Check our NPC Gift Guide for birthday dates.

5. Mobile Push for Expiry Alerts

Enable mobile push notifications specifically for mail expiry. This single setting has saved countless players from losing event-exclusive items. See Cross-Platform Guide for setup instructions.

6. Don’t Hoard Mail

NPC letters don’t expire, but they clutter your inbox. Once you’ve read a letter and completed its associated quest, delete it to keep your inbox manageable. Important letters (quest triggers, museum unlocks) are auto-archived in your journal.

7. Code Redemption Timing

When you redeem a code from our Active Codes page, the items go to your mailbox immediately. Claim them right away — don’t wait, because you might forget and the 30-day timer is ticking.

8. Multiplayer Gift Strategy

You can send 10 gifts per day to friends via mail. Send cooked dishes — they give the most friendship points. Coordinate with your co-op group to maximize mutual gifting. See our Multiplayer Guide for the full gifting strategy.

9. Shop Restock Alerts

The Daily Digest tells you what Ka Ching’s store has restocked. If a rare item appears, buy it immediately — the store rotates every 24 hours and you might not see it again for weeks.

10. Check Mail After Events

When a seasonal event ends, event rewards are mailed to you within 1 hour. Check your mailbox after the event concludes to claim your final standings and participation prizes.

Summary

The mail system in Heartopia is your lifeline to rewards, quests, and social connections. Treat your mailbox like a real inbox — check it daily, claim attachments promptly, and never let rewards expire.

Key takeaways:

  • Mailbox is outside your front door — unlocked from Day 1
  • Read the Daily Digest first every morning — it’s your daily planner
  • Remote check at D.G. Lv.3 — but claim in person
  • Most rewards expire in 14-30 days — event rewards are the most urgent
  • Enable mobile push notifications for 24-hour expiry warnings
  • NPC letters trigger quests — read them and follow up in person
  • Code rewards arrive by mail — claim immediately after redemption (see Active Codes)
  • Delete read letters to keep your inbox clean — important ones auto-archive

Check your mail. Claim your rewards. Never miss a deadline.
