Your home in Heartopia is more than just a place to sleep — it’s a canvas for self-expression. From cozy cottages to grand estates, this guide covers everything you need to build, decorate, and customize your dream home.

Home Expansion Stages

Your home starts as a small cottage and can be expanded through 5 stages. Each expansion is handled by Builder Bob at the Construction Site.

Expansion Tips

  • Stage 2 is top priority — the kitchen unlocks cooking at home, saving daily trips to Massimo’s restaurant.
  • Stage 3 adds a garden plot for farming at home — incredibly convenient.
  • Stage 4 doubles your space. The second floor is perfect for a bedroom and study.
  • Stage 5 is a luxury for end-game players. The basement is ideal for displaying rare collections.

See our Gold-Making Guide for strategies to afford expansions quickly.

Decoration Tips & Space Planning

Layout Principles

  1. Zone Your Rooms: Dedicate each room to a theme (kitchen, bedroom, museum, etc.)
  2. Leave Walkways: Ensure at least 1 tile of walking space between furniture clusters
  3. Use Rugs as Anchors: Place a rug first, then arrange furniture around it
  4. Layer Lighting: Combine ceiling lights, lamps, and fireplaces for warm ambiance
  5. Vertical Space: Use shelves and wall-mounted items to maximize small rooms

  • Stove and counter along one wall (prep zone)
  • Dining table in the center or near window
  • Refrigerator and cabinet against side wall
  • Hanging pot rack if available

  • Sofa facing the TV or fireplace
  • Coffee table in front of sofa
  • Bookshelf against back wall
  • Large rug tying the seating area together

Display Room (Stage 4+):

  • Glass display cases along walls
  • Spotlight lamps on each case
