The building system offers extensive customization options, including wall construction, multi-story floor planning, and decorative landscaping. This guide walks you through home plot expansions, structural limits, layout editing tools, and land clearing.

Home Plot Expansion Requirements

To expand your building area and increase your height limits, you must upgrade your plot level through Builder Bob’s services in the town square.

Building Second & Third Stories

Building vertically allows you to double your usable floor space without sacrificing farmland:

Framework Upgrade: Reach D.G. Level 10 and purchase the 2nd Story Construction Permit from Builder Bob (5,000 Gold). Higher levels unlock the 3rd story permit.
Stairs Placement: Open Build Mode and place a staircase. Stairs require a 2×4 floor clearance on both the lower and upper levels.
Balcony Railings: To build a balcony, place a balcony floor tile extending beyond your exterior walls and surround it with Pine Balcony Railings (crafted at the workbench).

Removing Terrain Obstacles

When you first purchase expansions, the new land will be cluttered with ancient logs and massive boulders that block construction:

🌲 Ancient Oak Stumps: Require an Iron Axe or better. Chopping them takes 10 swings and yields Hardwood x12.
🪨 Massive Granite Boulders: Require an Iron Pickaxe or better. Mining them takes 10 swings and yields Stone x15 + Iron Ore x4.
🌿 Thorn Bushes: Require a Bronze Sickle or better. Clearing them yields Fiber x8.

Mastering Building Tools & Blueprints

📐 Grid Alignment: When in build mode, tap the Snap-to-Grid toggle to align walls, pillars, and foundations perfectly. This prevents unsightly gaps in your design.
🧱 Structural Support: To build second and third stories, you must place solid load-bearing pillars or structural walls underneath. If a room floats without support, the placement UI will show red.
📂 Saving Blueprints: You can save your entire house layout as a custom blueprint. This is useful for rotating your house or swapping entire designs without deleting items one by one.
🤝 Shared Plots: Grant trusted friends “Co-Building Rights” through your plot settings panel so they can help place furniture, plant flowers, or paint fences.
